A year in review

The last 12 months have been great. Ups and downs but mostly ups. I was talking to a friend, who is now one of my best friends, and she asked me what we were doing a year ago. In December 2010 I has just signed up to be a Team Beachbody coach and had zero clue what was about to happen in my life. Joined a 90 Days to Diamond group and that is where I met my friend Rhonda. She is like a sister. It is nuts. We are twins separated at birth. We share the same passion for things and the same nut ball attitude about things too. We calm each other down and lift each other up. She can say anything to me and I know she is right. She’s always right. I love having her as my success partner and friend. I can’t imagine where my life would be now if I hadn’t taken that leap of faith to be a coach and get into that group.

Lately I’ve been talking to friends about joining my team. I do hear excuses quite a bit. First let’s be clear. No, is a complete sentence. You don’t have to join my team to be my friend. You don’t have to be a coach or one of my customers to be my friend. I’m doing this for you more than I’m doing this for me. If you join my team I get $20. Nice but not what I’m going for in life. I’m in this to change lives. I hear my friends talking about needing extra money, not having time with their family, being in debt, feeling overwhelmed, feeling useless, hating their job, not having a mate, and more. I’ve even had friends join my team and quit. It’s okay. Some don’t stay. But the ones that get it, embrace it, and pay it forward to help others are flying high. There is no way they will ever quit. They feel the passion. They feel the power and excitement of the movement.

Benefits of coaching:
 Work 90% online at my own hours
 Meet fun, happy, positive people
 Improve your personal development
 Make money quickly without punching a clock at a job
 Get and stay healthy
 An accountability group of coaches checking up on you and your fitness success
 Recognition and celebrations about you and your accomplishments
 Help with goal setting and goal achieving
 Large network of coaches to help you success with your fitness and business
 Ability to help people nationwide and worldwide get healthy

I’ll just focus on the money part since that is what interests people most about coaching in the beginning. In a year I’ve given myself a 300% raise without getting a second job. Yes you heard me 300%. There isn’t a job in the world that can offer that. I remember at my previous jobs I’d work a year and I’d be lucky to get 3-4%.

There are many reasons why people say no to me. I don’t have time, I don’t have money, I’m overweight and don’t feel confident to help anyone, my husband said no, I can’t be like you. Most of the reasons are based in fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear that it will be some icky cult and we will not let you out. Fear that you might fail so you don’t even try. There is never a right time for coaching. There is no such thing as finding time. You either make time or you don’t. Last year at this time Mark had a root canal infection and had to go to the emergency room, Reese had strep and pneumonia, and many other things that could have given me a reason to say no or to quit. I pushed through the excuses and the fear and I’m so glad I did. Here I am a year later making 300% more money than last year. I’m helping people change their lives while I’m changing mine.

You either find a way or find an excuse. I can’t stand when people complain about their terrible lives, blame everything on other people or circumstances and then do zero to change it. Embracing the coaching opportunity is the best way I know how to change your life. I’m watching friends retire. That’s right, retire. Leaving their full time jobs they thought they would have for the next 20 years and after a year to 3 years of coaching they are leaving. Why? Because they can and because they want to. Who is leaving their jobs? Professor from SMU, elementary teacher, engineer, police officer, and the list goes on and on.

This “I’m a coach” video is great. It explains how your body is your business. Imagine waking up, not driving to a job. You workout as your job and help others stay on track. Sounds awesome to me. Oh, and my friend Rhonda is the girl in the blue tank top that says “keep pushing play” at the end of the video. I also know several people in the video but I thought it was cool that she was in it. Set goals and Beachbody helps you.

I’m sure I’ve annoyed some of you. I’m sure some of you have already cursed me while you were reading this. Or maybe you didn’t even make it to the end. I’m sure some didn’t even click on the link to the blog. That’s okay. One day. One day I will help them in one way or another. One day they will decide to change. The Beachbody motto is Decide. Commit. Succeed. So true. I absolutely do not want to offend anyone. I don’t want to force anyone into doing something either. If someone had forced me to coach I would have told them no. In fact, I did say no a few times. The opportunity kept presenting itself to me and I took the leap of faith. I listened to the people above me that had proven success and now I’m succeeding in many areas of my life.

Stop waiting for the right time to get started. This IS the right time. You know you want to make a change in your life. A year from now you will see another update from me you will say man, I wish I would have started a year ago.
