Tips on Healthy Eating

Tips on eating healthy.
1) Eat whole foods: Eat a banana over a bag of chips. No one ever ate 2 or 3 bananas in a row. How many times have you eaten a bag of chips or a bucket of popcorn? Focus on whole foods.
2) Avoid processed foods: Your body rarely will receive the nutrients it needs from a processed food. How many times have you returned to the pantry after eating a bag of chips to look for something else? Focus on foods with fewer chemicals, dyes, and ingredients. You will feel better.
3) Eliminate refined sugars: Sugar is all over. You get enough of it. Pay attention to how much you are eating and keep your body from having those sugar spikes and crashes to crave more. If you are eating whole foods you can control the sugar content.
4) Drink water. Just do it. Drink a giant glass every morning. Keep drinking. Your skin will look and feel better. Your body will function better.
5) Reduce Dairy. Google it for yourself. Dairy can be the source of many health issues. Allergies, IBS, linked to cancer and more. I used to have cheese all the time. We still have cheese in our home but very little. We might have pizza here and there but cheese and milk are no longer a staple in our home. We buy lactose free yogurt and cream cheese. We also use almond milk. You can receive plenty of calcium and vitamin D from leafy greens and your gut will feel better.
6) Measure your portions. Portion sizes have increased over the last several decades. Measure what you eat and you will find that it is enough and you don’t need that giant bowl. If you order a small or a large popcorn at the theater I bet you will eat it all no matter what the size. Be mindful of your portions and that will help you succeed.
